Cousin visits

We got a message on Tuesday from my cousin Kerry, who had recently graduated from the University of Georgia. She has been interviewing for a job at the University of South Carolina here in town, and just found out that we live here. So she was calling to let us know she was coming for her third interview and was hopeful she would get the job. We offered to let her stay with us instead of getting a hotel, and she was very excited. Well, she came in Thursday, interviewed at the USC University Publications department and was offered the job (and she accepted!). On Friday, I had to work because my boss's sister, who is also a chiropractor, had her baby (7 pounds, 7 ounces, 20-1/2 inches long, Lea Kathryn), so I covered her office for her. But Jeni and Kerry drove around and Kerry found an apartment that fits her needs. All she has to do now is get it OK'd by her mom and stepdad and she'll be right down the street from us. She almost ended up in the same building as us, just on the other side, but the apartment wouldn't be ready in time. Instead, the one she wants is brand new. She'll be the very first resident in it. We're both very excited for her.
