Squirrels beware

Apparently squirrels don't stand much luck around us. It's not like we set out to do them harm, but harm seems to come after them around us. We've claimed two squirrels in our time, the latest was found dead, just simply dead, in our back yard last night. Oddest thing, because you usually associate a dead squirrel with some circumstance -- the wrong power line, a car -- but never really time and natural causes. But sure enough, this one was that way. And of course, the trash men had come earlier that day, so I trekked down to the woods at the end of the street and gave him an appropriate burial.

The other squirrel was an unfortunate grilling incident, which I will argue was just a bad decision by the squirrel and not a case of me not paying attention. 'Nuff said about that one... bad memories.
