Apprehending Prawo Jazdy

It appears that, all across Ireland, Prawo Jazdy has been getting driving citations -- at least 50 -- but has never been prosecuted. Recently, the police found out why: Prawo Jazdy is Polish for "driver's license" and they weren't actually writing down the person's name. It's the kind of thing folk ballads are written about ... "The Legend of Prawo Jazdy."

Mom sells son's car

I forgot to link to this funny article ... a Mom sold her son's car after three weeks because she found alcohol in the car. Good for her! But the add she placed is priceless...

One cold hand

If you are in Pittsburgh and lost a glove, this is the website for you (onecoldhand.com). I guess this lady found a glove and wanted to help it find its mate, and it has grown from there. Neat story.

The Hoohaa Monologues

This is too ridiculous to be made up. Apparently The Vagina Monologues was a little too offensive to have on the marquee, so they changed the name to The Hoohaa Monologues instead.

[OK, I really need to get to work now...]

The value of copy editing

I was reading an AP article about the Super Bowl and it talked about Drew Brees pulling for Peyton Manning and mentioned that Brees was in Miami "at an event sponsored by Visa to teach teenagers about the pratfalls of misusing credit." I'm sure the writer meant "pitfalls" but in my mind, I imagine the Saints quarterback flopping and falling in classic physical comedy pratfalls made famous by Dick Van Dyke and Chevy Chase while talking to college students. "You see, if you ruin your credit, you'll fall on your butt."
