Winnie-the-Pooh interpreted
This is a neat project where preschoolers drew a picture from their favorite Winnie-the-Pooh scene and professional artists interpreted the child's drawing into their own style. Some are offbeat, some have no resemblance to the child's work, and some are just amazing. (I found this on Neil Gaiman's Journal.)
Jury Duty, part 2
Well, Jeni's got jury duty again ... the second time this year. Random, my ass! And the first time doesn't exempt her from this one "because this is a different court." Of course, it'll be a traffic case and she'll be excused because she's a chiropractor and I'm a chiropractor and they'll have a chiropractor testifying. I told her she should just wear a chiropractic t-shirt and maybe they won't even let her in the building. And the best part, this court is in an old, essentially abandoned mall on one of the worst streets near us, so let's just hope she makes it through jury duty alive.

Thanks, everyone
I just wanted to thank everyone who helped make Jeni's birthday so special. We had such a good time Saturday at Tish's pool, hanging out with Tish, Susan and John, and Bill and Barbara, from work, and Lisa and Brian. Tiffany and Tracey sent such nice gifts. Plus there were all the phone calls from our parents and Jeni's brother, and Kelli and Trinity and Nikki ... and the funniest messages from Rick and Hannah, and Gracie, and from Suzanne on Sunday (apparently we left her a message Saturday night...) It was just such a fun weekend and I know Jeni really appreciated everyone's efforts to make her day special.

Happy Birthday Jeni!
Happy Birthday, Jeni! Jeni gets to be 33 all over again. It seems that since I turned 33, she's had it in her head that she was also 33 until just the other day when I reminded her that she was just 32. So she gets to do 33 all over again, which most people don't get to. We're going to spend the afternoon with Lisa and Brian and some people from work hanging out at Tish's pool (from work) and then hang out at Susan's house (also from work), so it should be a nice relaxing day. Happy Birthday Jeni ... I love you!

Cooking with tea
I stumbled across the Tea Chef website from Adagio Teas while killing the last few minutes before lunch ... it features recipes using tea and will send you a sample tea to encourage you to create recipes to submit. Adagio has great loose teas that I have really enjoyed. I think my two favorites are Oriental Spice and Cream.

Pop in New York, 1943
This is such a cool picture and by far one of my favorites from the pictures we copied at Nanny's a few years back. This is my grandfather (Pop) on the far right with some Army buddies (Tom Williams, Sidney Fox and Harold McDonald) in New York, October 1943. You ask me, Harold McDonald looks like the troublemaker in the group.

The More You Know
We really enjoy The Office and they created a bunch of very funny fake PSAs. My favorites are "Taping Sex" and "The Fugitive" ... you may get the occasional FedEx ad before the video, be patient.

Happy Birthday Nanny
Happy Birthday Nanny! My grandmother's birthday was Friday, June 2 and somehow her age has frozen in time somewhere in the 80s. Every time I think I know how old she is, I forget, re-remember, confuse myself and forget again. But her age doesn't matter, her resilience does. She made the decision in the last year and a half to enter an independent living facility and I can never reach her on the phone because she's always out and about, either working in the gift shop, playing pinochle or exercising (yes, she does jazzercise and tai chi, which is more exercise than I've done in the last four years!) ... A few visits ago, Jeni and I snagged a handful of old photos and made photocopies (reprints were not as affordable as they are now, unfortunately). This is of Dad with Nanny and Pop. I just think this is such a great picture. Anyway, Happy Birthday Nanny, we love you.

Mini satellites
OK, I'm a big geek, and I accept that. But still, this is a neat article about the possible future of satellites.
