Tumor removal

My boss sent around an email about one of his daughter's best friends. She's in fifth grade and is having surgery to remove a tumor today -- her birthday, of all days. I don't know any details about what kind of tumor, location or if it is benign or malignant. They were asking for prayers and healing thoughts. Her surgery is at 1:00 this afternoon. I just couldn't imagine being in fifth grade and having to worry with something this grave. I can't even remember what was a big deal to me in fifth grade except a broken wrist and the Thriller album...
